Raising the bar for heat-resistant air duct materials
In today’s hybrid and internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles, air management systems face tougher challenges than ever. With growing demand for improved fuel economy and lower emissions, turbocharged engines are becoming more powerful—and hotter. That means air ducts and turbo hoses must withstand higher pressures, aggressive gases, and temperatures reaching 250°C. Traditional rubber and metal parts can handle the heat, but they bring trade-offs: added weight, complex designs, and limited recyclability. The solution? High-performance, blow-moldable thermoplastic copolyesters (TPCs) that combine flexibility, heat resistance, and sustainability.
Advanced thermal management systems for safer EV batteries
Electric vehicles (EVs) are reshaping the automotive industry, driven by stricter CO2 emission regulations and growing consumer demand for greener options. Ensuring EV battery safety and efficiency requires innovative thermal management systems (TMS). Envalior’s advanced material solutions offer exceptional performance, cost savings, and reliability, supporting the future of electric transportation.
High-performance gears for compact and durable comfort actuator units
As consumer preferences evolve, comfort features like electrically powered seats, windows, door handles, tailgates and foldable mirrors become more important in vehicle purchases, especially in mid-class and luxury hybrid and electric models. These systems rely on compact actuators units designed for efficiency and durability. Envalior’s Stanyl® PA46 delivers exceptional performance and reliability in gears components used in these actuator units
eVTOLs: extending the engineering toolbox for next-level lightweighting
The race to bring electric Vertical Takeoff and Landing (eVTOL) aircraft to market is accelerating rapidly. Engineers are continuously pushing the boundaries to maximize efficiency, extend flight range, and meet rigorous safety and sustainability standards. Traditionally, metals have been the trusted choice and backbone of aerospace designs, providing reliability, structural integrity, and proven performance. However, the unique requirements of eVTOL aircraft mean we must also look beyond conventional solutions to achieve groundbreaking innovations.

First roof crossmember with thermoplastic fiber composite design for convertible soft-top
Fabric roofs for convertibles are highly complex assemblies when it comes to safety, look, and functionality. Designing them is therefore always challenging. The example of the new convertible from a German premium automotive manufacturer illustrates the new opportunities that high-tech thermoplastics open up in the design of such parts. Its fully automatic fabric acoustic soft-top is equipped with a roof crossmember at the front that is made from the lightweight Tepex® and Durethan® structural materials from Envalior. They act as substitutes for magnesium. Envalior will present the crossmember at the Fakuma 2024 trade show.
